Syracuse restoration

For years, it was a park, but before that it was a cemetery. Now, the First Ward Cemetery in Syracuse, NY, is about to undergo a restoration.

"I don't think any of us had heard of a situation like this where a cemetery has been so completely defaced, really. So, the goal is not to bring it back to its original condition. It's more to provide access to the cemetery for individuals through a path system," Shelley Swanson said.
