Cemetery gets OK in NM, but story's not over

Here's a follow-up to the N.M. cemetery that was coming up for a vote:

Bernalillo County OK'd the proposal, 4-1, but some area residents plan to sue to stop development of the 13,000-plot site, which will include a crematory and funeral services office. One question that went unanswered is how the new owner/operator will water the grass in this water-starved portion of the country. While we recognize that our society will need cemeteries for all time -- how many people do you know have done without a final resting place? -- here is another consequence of the modern cemetery movement: extensive landscaping costs, many of which put a large strain on our environment.
